Website Prototype

Home Page- I will introduce my capstone project and introduce myself and my capstone project. I will talk about the jist of what I am doing

Thinking ahead- Presentation.

For my capstone presentation I am hoping to use a 3d representation of of a free dental clinic for people who cannot afford it. I will probably include a powepoint representation of my project that explains the jist of what my project is about. I researched a number of different websites and ideas to incorporate into my project and make it better to where people and judges will be interested in my issue and what i have to say.

Poster- First Draft

For my Capstone poster I wanted to have a funny sarcastic sort of call to action since my PSA was made in a comedic kind of way. I used photoshop to make my poster and i tried to use bright colors and make the poster short and sweet and easy to read.

PSA Presentation

For my PSA presentation i just shot three main scenes that would be short and to the point of my topic of lack of oral care affecting overall health. At the end i did a call to action to pull everything together.

How to make a PSA article review

The article about how to write a PSA was very helpful and informative for me. It told me the do's and dont's about a proper and interesting PSA and how to make it work. It talked about the timing, content, intent, etc. It was very helpful.

PSA Intent

For my PSA i will use a more serious approach to my topic that includes the consequences of the lack of proper oral care. Since this is a important issue i will use impotant stats that will show the seriousness of this issue. I will try to show some of the health effects of the issue with pictures, examples, etc. This is a rough outline of the order my PSA will follow...

Beginning Preliminary identification of presentation Capstone elements

• My capstone will include having to purchase materials and props for my #D model of a dental clinic and show possible lesson plans for schools so children can learn about the importance of their oral health and dental care.
• I will present my poster material on a standup poster board
• As i mentioned before, i will have a 3D model of an example low income/free dental clinics that can be created in neighborhoods.
• I will be in professional attire that is worn by dentists

Discuss look and feel issues

A.) I think i would like to use more comedy in my PSA because it will grab peoples attention even more and bring them to realize the seriousness of the situation with the use of humor. It will also be more fun and interesting for people to learn about the issue.

B.) I will use bright colors and bold and playful fonts because some of my project deals with educating young children on the aspects of proper oral care, so playful colors and fonts will catch the eye. I will also have to use solid plain color for the other half of my presentation that targets adults so it will highlight the seriousness of the situation. I will use photographs that show the negative effects of the lack of dental care and related illnesses and diseases.


C.) My video and site will be persuasive because i will use interesting and serious points and display them in an interesting and informative manner which will make the reader or listener want to know more.


D.) I will use clear and interesting points that are simple, to the point, and easy to grasp. I will not overwhelm the listener with a ton of information so they will not be bored.

E.) My end product will be a 3D model and representation of a free/low income dental clinic for people who can not afford the proper dental insurance needed to suffice. I will also create a lesson plan in schools for young children that will them how to maintain proper oral health

Capstone Project Statement of Intent

1.) The goal of my Capstone project is to inform people about the importance of proper dental care and oral hygeine, and how the lack of dental insurance can effect overall health.

2.) This is important because many people do not realize how something as simple as tooth decay can lead to death and other health problems such as pre-mature and low birth weight babies.

3.) Since I want to pursue a career in Dentistry this topic fits perfectly with my goal.

4.) This project informs society on the importance of taking care of their oral health, and also informs them of the consequences of not doing so.

5.) People- Shows them the effects of the lack of oral hygeine
Economics- The importance of dentral insurance and the correlation between the number of visits and improvement in oral health.
Enviornment- How to keep everyones teeth clean and healthy, and how that improves the quality of life.
